Philadelphia Festival Dancesport Championships

April 20-22, 2012

Dear Friends,
It is with great pleasure that we announce
our new partnership!
Over the many years of this Championship, dancers have enjoyed the Philadelphia Festival. Our goal is to carry on the tradition of hard work and
dedication started by Andy and Sandra Fortuna. We would like to extend our gratitude to them both.

We plan to further grow and produce a World class event that brings couples from all over the World and throughout North America. What better place to hold our Championship than in Philadelphia. Known as The City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia is a vibrant and trendy place to be with fine
restaurants, museums, shopping and sightseeing. Of course we plan to keep you busy with your own dancing as well as the chance to see top couples compete in this, our first year. We are very excited and full of energy to host a truly beautiful event. Please join us and celebrate our new vision.

We are looking forward to seeing you in April!

The Philadelphia Festival and Atlantic Coast Championships is a special weekend. The comments by spectators and competitors tell it like it was again in 2011:

"What a wonderful event you hosted. I loved the way everything was set up and the atmosphere was great. Judy Waters"

"Your event goes the extra mile with effort and care. feels like home! Tony Delgado"

"...There is no other comp that I've been to that provides such a greatly anticipated Saturday evening as yours. It was an obvious success and I hope to continue coming for as long as I can manage to shuffle one foot in front of the other..."

"Carol and I wanted to thank you for the invitation to dance at the Marriott. We have never been to a ballroom competition before and found it very enjoyable. Also, so impressed at how organized it was, how smoothly and efficiently it progressed. We hosted our milongas every Sunday for seven years so we can appreciate how much work goes into planning your event Great job."

“Thank you so much! My students have NEVER been to such an exciting event. We have been attending competitons for 10 years, but we have never been to such an exciting, well run, beautifully presented competition. We’ll be back!”

“You’ve outdone yourselves! This was the best ever! Everything was just right –the timing, the atmosphere, the quality of dancing, the music…”

It’s true. It was terrific. On the big night, Saturday, April 16, the banquet was served, then the program began with a Retro style singing surprise by the imcomparable “TRU,” Jimi Williams, LaVon Tatem, Primo Wansley; followed by Argentine Tango Artisits and World Finalists, Orlando Reyes and Adrianna Salgado, from Columbia; The Professional Atlantic Coast Ballroom, Smooth, Rhythm, Latin, One Dance Show, Amateur Atlantic Coast Ballroom and Latin, Top Awards and a fair amount of general dancing to the fabulous music presented by Dave Ennis until 12:30am.
